About Scott:

Born and raised in Ohio, Scott moved to Colorado to enjoy the great outdoors in 1996 after receiving a BA in English from Ohio State University. His finance minor (unusual for humanities graduates) was put to use quickly working in the financial services industry as a consumer correspondence writer, a corporate communications writer, and a marketing communications writer.

Scott's love of writing established roots as early as elementary school with numerous credits in school publications extending into high school, but he drifted away from writing during his university years looking to establish a mainstream corporate career. And he continually devised excuses to delay fiction writing in the years after college.

Scott tinkered with literary reviews, article writing, internet movie reviews, and - - of course business writing to garner the ever-needed paycheck, but his love of science fiction continually nagged at him in the background. During a convenient haitus from the corporate world in 2004, Scott returned to his literary passions and began writing science fiction stories. He has been collecting rejection slips ever since, and proudly displays them as the well-earned trophies that they have become.

As a part of his experience, attending Cons has become an enormous factor in his writing regimen. His first Con was the Nebula Awards Banquet in Seattle, April 2004. The experience was an eye opener to say the least, and he has found that Cons are a terrific motivational tool - the people are top notch, fun, open, and engaged. He followed that first Con up by attending MileHiCon in Denver 2004, 2005 and 2006, COSine in Colorado Springs 2005 and 2006, and MARCON in Columbus, Ohio over Memorial Day weekend 2005.

His next conventions look to be MARCON 2007 Memorial Day Weekend in Columbus, Ohio and MileHiCon 2007 in October, Denver, Colorado.

Like a junkie, he's always looking for the next fix.
